Heart failure does not mean that  heart has stopped working, rather it means that  heart works less efficiently than normal. Due to some causes the blood moves through the heart and then body at a slower rate by increasing the pressure in the heart. As a result, the heart cannot pump enough oxygen and nutrients to the body parts as per the needs and requirements.

The chambers of the heart may respond by stretching to hold more blood to pump through the body or by becoming stiff and thickened. This helps to keep the blood moving, but the heart muscle walls may eventually  get weaken and become unable to pump as efficiently. As a result, the kidneys causes the body to retain fluid (water) and salt. If fluid builds up in the arms, legs, ankles, feet, lungs, or other organs, the body becomes congested, and congestive heart failure is the term used to describe the condition.

\r\n Hypertension ,commonly called as high blood pressure, which can also be a major medical  review. Hypertension does not usually show any symptoms, and even not diagnosed in the early stages. It is one of the important cause of heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, and other serious medical problems.

\r\n

\r\n As it  is so common and consequential, it is important for everyone to have their blood pressure checked periodically.  The  blood pressure that is higher than the desirable range, but not high enough to be labelled hypertension which would be 120/80mmhg given as Prehypertension.

\r\n Heart disease outlines various conditions which can be affected to the heart . Diseases under the heart include blood vessel diseases, such as coronary artery disease; heart defects you're born with (congenital heart defects), among others.

\r\n The term "heart disease" is often used interchangeably with the term "cardiovascular disease." Cardiovascular disease generally refers to conditions involving the  blocked, narrowed blood vessels that leads  to a heart attack, stroke & chest pain (angina). Other heart conditions, such as those that affect your heart's muscle also are considered as the heart diseases.

\r\n Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a condition in which the function of heart is inadequate to meet the body's needs.The pumping efficiency of heart can be impaired through many diseases by causing the congestive heart failure.

\r\n The diagnosis test of CHF is based on knowledge of the selected laboratory tests , individual's medical history and a careful physical examination.The treatment of congestive heart failure includes mechanical therapies, addressing potentially reversible factors, medications, heart transplant and lifestyle modifications.The duration of CHF can be variable in any given patient.

\r\n Molecular cardiology is a new, fast-growing area of cardiovascular medicine that aims to apply molecular biology techniques for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention, mechanistic investigation of cardiovascular disease. As it is an emerging, it has changed the conceptual thinking of cardiovascular development, pathophysiology and etiology of disease.

\r\n Although molecular cardiology at a very early stage, has opened a promising avenue for controlling & understanding the cardiovascular disease.

\r\n Echocardiography, also called an echo test or heart ultrasound, is a test that takes “moving pictures” of the heart with sound waves. It’s not surgery. Echocardiography uses standard two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and Doppler ultrasound to create images of the heart. It is one of the most widely used diagnostic tests in cardiology. It can provide a wealth of helpful information, including the size and shape of the heart (internal chamber size quantification), pumping capacity, and the location and extent of any tissue damage. Echocardiography can help to detect cardiomyopathies, such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, and many others.

These can be symptoms of arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat. Women who have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, a type of atrial fibrillation that is intermittent (or comes and goes), may have a faster heart rate response than men, and tend to have longer episodes. Sudden cardiac death is a sudden, unexpected death caused by loss of heart function. Heart rate which is too fast above 100 beats per minute in adults is known as tachycardia and if it is below 60 beats per minute – is known as bradycardia and it may be caused by many different factors, including: Coronary artery disease, electrolyte imbalances in your blood (such as sodium or potassium). Changes in your heart muscle. Men Baseline Heart Rate on average is slower compared to women and this kind of differences is seen in girls, on an average, as young as five years old. There is also a shorter sinus node refractory time – this means that it takes a shorter time for the SA node to recover and become ready to fire an impulse again and also women with diabetes have higher CVD mortality rates than men with diabetes.

The cardiac drugs affect the function of the heart in three main ways. They can affect the force of contraction of the heart muscle (inotropic effects), they can affect the frequency of the heart beat or heart rate (chronotropic effects) or they can affect the regularity of the heart beat (rhythmic effects). Drugs can also affect blood vessels by altering the state of compression of the smooth muscle in the vessel wall, altering its diameter and accordingly directing the volume of blood stream. Such medications are classified as vasoconstrictors or vasodilators depending on the smooth muscle lining contraction and relaxation respectively.
